We got a first look today at the Black/Cement Grey Air Jordan 3 thanks to @zsneakerheadz (IG).
Introduced back in 1988, the “Black/Cement” edition is a beloved colorway and synonymous with greatness, as it was worn only once in a game by Michael Jordan during the 1988 NBA All-Star game when he won his first of 3 All-Star game MVPs. Thankfully, this 2024 retro version remains true to its original design by featuring the nostalgic Black, Fire Red, Cement Grey, and Sail color scheme along with its black tumbled leather, signature elephant print overlays, and Fire Red details. The “Nike Air” branding on the heel and enhanced cushioning with visible Air units complete this updated classic.
Release Information: Save the date—November 23, 2024 is when they’ll drop at select Jordan Brand stores and online at Nike.com. The sneakers will be available in multiple sizes, with men’s pairs priced at $220, grade school at $150, preschool at $90, and toddler at $75.

Retros - "Complete butchering, we're not even trying here and yes we know we're on the 5th release now of this shoe."
NT: Man that sucks, we've all been there before... We got you man, enjoy!
Dude: Thank you so much! He loves them, NT is the best!
NT: No problem, glad we could help... Btw what were the other gifts you got him?
Dude: PS5, a couple pair of amiri jeans, and court side seats to the Lakers game.

Dude:
1. Release gets announced. Thread is made.
2. People show up and depending on the shoe, are elated and talking about copping multiples.
3. The people with the last release still DS (they own several pairs) show up to tell everyone they won't be copping.
4. Pre-release speculation and general thread banter persists until early photos finally drop.
5. Finally a (low resolution) photo of a pair (that was stepped on) surfaces online after being ripped from the first batch of non QC'd, early production pairs that were smuggled out of some factory.
6. People voice their disdain for a pair that usually is not even indicative of what retail pairs will look like. Some people even talk about passing despite the fact that they are NOT what the retail pair will look like.
Etc etc you get the point. We've all been here before. Be forreal guys. 😆

The goal of these retro releases should be to faithfully recreate the original look that Moore and Kilgore intended for the Jordan 1 and 2, and what Tinker intended for the 3 thru 15. These shoes that we all love are not only just that, but they are art. When you sit a pristine pair of OGs next to a modern retro, the difference is night and day. For example: 1991 Black Infrared 6s. The higher tongue, the white/grey cut lines that pop out at you and break up the monotony of the black Durabuck, the leather-like contrast heel, I could go on.
Seeing a pristine pair makes my eyes widen. That is how they were meant to look. That is how modern iterations should look. The fact that a lot of the younger crowd would look at those above and not care nor see anything special about them is wild to me. Same goes for these 3s. The fact that dudes can look at the OGs in all their sleek, well proportioned, aerodynamic glory and then still say that the the clunky *** 2018 release or even that this current one looks better, is crazy.
Sold my worn and DS pair In anticipation for this release. You always need a pair of Nike Air Bc3 in the collection/rotation.
When 3s are done correct, they are simply even more beautiful!
