If you’ve ever wanted to own a pair of Air Jordans made out of plastic, we’ve got great news:  you probably already have several pairs of them in your closet.  But if you’ve ever wanted to own an officially licensed miniature Air Jordan modeling kit, you’ve been out of luck – until now.

Bandai Premium, known for its long-running line of Gundam mech modeling kits, recently unveiled miniature models of the iconic Air Jordan I high-top in the Black/Shadow and “Reverse Shadow” colorways, each of which measure just 120 mm in length.  They’ve now been made available for pre-order for the not so miniature price of $130.  (You know, because of inflation.)  Before longtime fans all scream out in unison that the original Air Jordan I cost less than that back in 1985, it’s worth noting that each kit does include both the Shadow and “Reverse Shadow” versions.

(We may receive referral and affiliate commissions as a result of visits and purchases made through outbound links, which help support our community.)

No model-building experience or glue is required, as these kits are designed to easily snap together.  Sickos who love the smell of industrial adhesives will need to get their fix elsewhere.  (Stock X might be hiring more “authenticators.”)

Pre-orders for the Bandai Air Jordan I model kit are scheduled to run through the end of September, but could end whenever the unspecified maximum order quantity has been reached.  Bandai expects orders to begin shipping in December, with all the usual disclaimers one might expect of a pre-order product.

For more on the kits – or the real shoes on which they’re based – check out the Air Jordan I forum thread on NikeTalk.

Happy about the comment that AJ1s have lost the most value... then mad when he realizes the correct answer was actually his Adidas line.

I must be a casual since I don’t know the difference between the remastered mold and V2.

Not really that different, but different enough that people complain about it.

Swoosh size and toe box. Without a shoe form the V2 toe box will curl up. Just look at photos of SBB retro and the Chicago Unions.

The SBBs were terrible.. they were like the BC 3 of Jordan 1 releases. These Royals got me thinking bout the Unions.

They really dropped the ball by not doing a 85 cut on these, the UNCs and the Chicagos but Nike gotta please the shareholders. We’ll be getting the 85s in 2035 though for the 50th anniversary.

A DS pair of 2020 Cojp Navy's without box just ended for $41 on auction on Ebay. Sucks they are a half size too small for me.
