Today, Nike seeks to renew its commitment to innovation by releasing a lightly modified version of its ubiquitous Tech Woven tracksuit.  Don’t let the pictures fool you.  This isn’t your parents’ Tech Fleece from 2014, this is the all new Nike Tech Woven Suit, featuring, in Nike’s words, “a modern, technical fit crafted with light, stretchy and breathable materials” (nylon, spandex, and polyester, to be more specific.)

Switching to nylon material will likely enhance wind and water resistance, compared to the standard Tech Fleece.  The new jacket includes elastic “bungee cord” drawstrings around the hood and hem, while the pants sport zippered pockets on both sides and add zippered ankles in place of the traditional cuffs.

The new suit goes on sale today in black and off-white colorways at Nike.com and “select retailers.”  Nike promises more colors to follow shortly, including an “ultra-reflective” variation – just when you thought the shiny suit era was finally gone for good.

Those who prefer the now decade-old tech fleece models will be reassured to learn that additional stock is now listed as “coming soon” on Nike.com in an assortment of familiar colorways.

So, what do you make of the 2024 iteration of Nike’s Tech Woven tracksuit?  Is it a modern update on a timeless classic, or a stagnant brand running an old hit into the ground?  To discuss the new gear, and keep current on the latest updates, check out NikeTalk’s Tech Fleece/Tech Knit discussion thread.

I wonder if they fixed the fading issue. That's too damn much money to be spending for something that fades after a wash or 2.

I always washed mine in cold water inside out and used woolite dark defenses detergent and got good results with that.

I've just been dry cleaning mine lately. I might try that though to see how it goes

Definitely cold wash. I have enough tech to last me a good while plus if it was Nike Tech Knit might be a different story.

It must cost Nike 3 cents more per hoody to put elastic cuffs on these things because I cannot figure out why they refuse to add them to the men’s line.

Saw the woven at JD Sports - seems okay - but certainly overpriced by minimum 50%. I would cop the pants for ~$40 maybe.

Nike Factory Store (Katy Mills) had tons of the latest TF but at $99 for jackets/$89 for pants then I see why it’s tons available.

Champs had a lot of the fleece for a 50% off in the clearance racks but it’ll go to 70% on Black Friday so I’ll just wait it out.

Nike steering people towards Uniqlo and other options by raising prices for cheaper quality.

I bought a couple last season stuff and man, why are the arms and overall length of these so freaking long.
I'm 5'8 and tried on a small and it still felt crazy oversized.
I thought these were at one point fitted?

Just got one of their new gen woven stuff.
Went XS and fit is absolutely garbage.
Felt like a garbage bag on it.
Sleeves were long. Stomach was puffy.
These aren’t a sleek fit at all. It feels like the style is baggy oversized.

$355 retail for the reflective jacket and pants. That's actually insane money for two items that Nike says "Do Not Wash" on both LOL. So, don't sweat in them at all I guess??

Haven't seen the new jacket, but at least for the old Olympic Windrunner that was fully reflective if it got wet and you rubbed it to hard that wore off. Heck, over time it has flaked off. Still one of my favorite jackets of all time.

Wore mine a while back and it was flakes everywhere.

Did you ever wash it in the washing machine before the flaking started to happen? I always wondered if it was possible to be laundered. At this point, it's just a novelty item as if I put it on the flaking will commence.

Never washed it in a washing machine. It has been in a plastic bag and garment bag for awhile now. Like you said mainly a novelty item at this point.

Funny story. Last time I wore it I had sideline passes for a Monday Night game. I was wearing that jacket right after the Olympics and as I’m walking the sidelines during the game my buddy was like everyone is staring, pointing and taking pictures of you. Everyone thought I was some sort of Olympian. 😂 For the rest of that game I walked around like you couldn’t tell me ANYTHING.

Hadn't really paid any attention to the TF when I had been to stores so I was legit confused what Nike did 🤔

It’s like the 2023 releases flopped hard so they tried to fuse them together with the previous version. Brought back the sleeve pocket on the arm and they realized the long pocket on the pants made zero sense for people who actually like to put hands in pockets.

On a level, it makes sense but I thought they usually wait 2-3 years between refreshes. Even though it feels like I’ve outgrown/moved past TF, I’m sure there’s a glut of inventory that I won’t be able to pass on when it hits the inevitable Black Friday 70% off

I thought the same til i was introduced to lululemon. Same price. Better quality. 1 year warranty on craftsmanship. Cant beat it. The only huge difference is lulu doesn’t come in bright colors which i like and prefer

Lululemon has the customer service that Nike used to have. My wife had a sweatshirt that was worn and the color started to bleed after a few months. They took it back and gave her full price msrp for a different jacket.

Thats wassup!! In my experience, Lulu’s customer service is hit or miss, but when it hits you hear stories like yours!
