We got a first look today at the Black/Cement Grey Air Jordan 3 thanks to @zsneakerheadz (IG).

Introduced back in 1988, the “Black/Cement” edition is a beloved colorway and synonymous with greatness, as it was worn only once in a game by Michael Jordan during the 1988 NBA All-Star game when he won his first of 3 All-Star game MVPs. Thankfully, this 2024 retro version remains true to its original design by featuring the nostalgic Black, Fire Red, Cement Grey, and Sail color scheme along with its black tumbled leather, signature elephant print overlays, and Fire Red details. The “Nike Air” branding on the heel and enhanced cushioning with visible Air units complete this updated classic.

Release Information: Save the date—November 23, 2024 is when they’ll drop at select Jordan Brand stores and online at Nike.com. The sneakers will be available in multiple sizes, with men’s pairs priced at $220, grade school at $150, preschool at $90, and toddler at $75.

Let us know how much you love (or hate) them here: AIR JORDAN 3 BLACK CEMENT – NOVEMBER 23, 2024

If we're talking Jordan retros 1 thru 14 I would say almost every model has been improved at least a little, some have been improved a whole lot. This last 5 years has been a new golden era for Jordan retros in general.
Yep and we got a dude trying to pump up the 2018’s over their leather quality! Thread gets more absurd daily

I believe that black pair is a kids size regardless of year. Lots/most kid sizes had high EP.
I think kids sizes had 4 red eyelets near the toe until pretty recently. Probably like a size 5 men’s. Definitely an outlier though as far as the EP boldness goes. The white pair is how the EP looked on the vast majority of OG pairs.

Size 5 mens = child's size IMO 😄

Jokes aside, anything under a men's 7 or 6 looks distorted on certain models.

Towards the end the guy asks a bunch of people which they prefer between the 2018 and 2024. Only one person chose 2024. It’s no wonder why Nike made the changes they made. The average person doesn’t care about OG details. They like bold elephant print and fake stiff tumbled leather.
This was pretty much a review of how good the 2018 pair were. This video did the 2024 no justice lmao

Still shocking to me how JB managed to mess up the 2024 this bad

That's exactly what you said, and how most folks would interpret it. Shape does not include EP type, EP height, & other details....like someone else said above.
That’s ridiculous to think I didn’t mean elephant print included with OG shape. But I guess that’s what I get for assuming people use common sense regularly.

It's not ridiculous.

Shape & details are very different for this convo. You only said shape.

There's probably not one person here who is on the same page with you on that. 😄

You’re out of your mind if you think that leather looks anything like the 2018 you’re pumping up🤣 I’ll give you this though: Jordans never had amazing leather. It got worse model after model and was mostly fully synthetic durabuck from the IV-VIII.

So have you ever seen a 3 with OG shape and high elephant print like the 2018s? Of course not.

Your immaturity & sensitivity are glaring. You miscommunicated. Not a big deal. Just own it. 😄

No need to read between the lines. The 2024 has smooth leather, still plastic coated. The 2018 has tumbled leather, still plastic coated BUT closely resembling the 1988 besides the shape and high elephant print. This entire argument is ******ed. Who cares if I like the 2018 or the 2024 better. None of it really matters.

I didn’t “miscommunicated” anything. I said what I said, if the 2018 had the OG shape, no one would care about the 2024. It’s not my fault you aren’t smart enough to understand that OG shape is an umbrella term that includes not only shape but panel cut. Seriously thought that would be common sense

You miscommunicated. Period.

And maybe in Qiggles' little world "shape" is an umbrella term to also include something such as the boldness of elephant print or EP height. 😄 Which is ridiculous.

Nobody will agree with this Quiggs. Get over it. 😄

How would they add the OG shape to a 3 and not fix the elephant print? It wouldn’t even fit.

I literally just sat here and thought am I just as…..nah

I don’t even know what the argument is. 2024 not even close to OG shape lol. It’s in the same stratosphere though, unlike that 2018 pair.

Everyone loved and wanted the 2018s back in the day, flaws and all. I love my pair and still wear them. That said, I'm excited for the 2024 even though it might miss the true OG mark according to some of the pics we have. I do wish they had the shape and EP height of the WC reimagined as those were amazing. We will see once we get them in but everyone saying 2018s are better is fine so its easier to get my 2024 pair.

This is simply not true. Many people loved them, yes. Others just couldn’t pass on black cements with Nike air so we held our noses and bought them. I always hated my pair. To say that everyone loved them in 2018 is a huge stretch.

You can go back to that thread and you’ll see that people who care about details were pretty upset when early pictures started appearing and showing that half the shoe was covered in EP.

I feel like we saying the same thing. 2018s weren't perfect but ppl bought them for the Nike air. When I said loved them the caveat was the flaws like shape, EP, ETC. Those issues didn't stop me or others from copping and they were better than 2011s.

How did the 2018 pair take such a huge step back from the 2001? :smh:

2001 was a great release; shape was on point. Elephant print was too dark, but still a great retro. There’s no way Nike/JB looked at the 2001 pair when designing the 2018 drop.

And the OG’s know the 2018 release was not universally loved like folks want you to beileve. We were happy NA was back, but the EP/toebox got plenty of  as soon as Rip dropped the pics of his pair.

They had two black cement and a hundred other three releases during that 17 years. Not sure why you would be shocked.
