With fewer than fifty days left before the pivotal 2024 US election, we urge all eligible voters to check or submit their voter registration and make a plan to vote on or prior to the November 5th Election Day.
Contrary to claims that “both sides are the same,” this year’s candidates vary widely in their views on most major issues: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/harris-trump-stance-issues-policies-president-race-rcna150570
Your Vote Matters
In 2016, Michigan was decided by an average of just two votes per precinct.
The turnout in that election was so poor, however, that if the refusal to vote counted as a vote for “nobody,” nobody would’ve won the election by a landslide.
Failing to vote transfers your power to those who do – amplifying their voices at the cost of your own.
The 2024 election will decide more than just the Presidency. Local elections will determine who, in your area, will be entrusted with housing/zoning policies, public school policies, prosecutorial decisions, managing police personnel, regional transportation, and more.
In ten states, voters will will determine access to reproductive healthcare through ballot initiatives.
Click here to check your voter registration status and make sure your information is up to date.
This election will likely be one of the most scrutinized in American history. Outdated or inaccurate registration information could invalidate your vote.
If you’re not registered, you can register online now. Registration deadlines vary by state. Some states, including Texas and Ohio, require voters to register 30 days before the election. You can check your state’s registration deadlines here: https://www.vote.org/voter-registration-deadlines/
How To Vote By Mail
More and more voters have begun submitting their votes by mail to avoid large crowds and long lines at the polls. To vote by mail, you’ll need to ensure that you’ve requested an absentee ballot. In some states, you may register as a “permanent mail-in voter” and automatically receive ballots by mail for upcoming general and primary elections.
Click here for help submitting your absentee ballot request online. If you intend to vote by mail, you must place your request soon enough to ensure that you both receive your ballot and mail it in time for your votes to be counted. This guide can help you plan: https://www.vote.org/voter-registration-deadlines/
As in 2020, delivery delays could prevent some mail-in ballots from being counted. Avoid potential disfranchisement by submitting your ballot as soon as you’re able.
You can bypass the USPS by depositing your absentee ballot at your local elections office, or by using one of the drop boxes available in most states. To find your nearest ballot drop off location, consult your local election office.
Don’t forget to sign your ballot envelope in the appropriate space, or it will not be counted.
How To Vote Early
If you receive an absentee ballot, we recommend that you complete, sign, and return your ballot as soon as possible. You do not need to wait until election day.
If you plan to vote in person, please consider participating in early voting if available in your area. Voting early could help you avoid long lines and prevent a “mirage victory,” in which election night results will be contradicted after the final absentee ballots are counted – a scenario which would almost certainly result in a protracted dispute over the election’s outcome.
Many key states allow early voting up to 45 days prior to the November 5th election. To find out when you can cast your ballot, refer to this early voting calendar:
How To Make Sure Your Vote Counts
- Check your voter registration and ensure that all information is up to date – including your signature.
- If you’re voting in person, make sure you bring any required ID with you. Check your state’s voter ID requirements here: https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id.aspx#Laws in Effect
- If you are still waiting in line when the polls close, don’t leave – you still have the right to vote.
- If voting the voting machines at your polling place go down, you have the right to a paper ballot.
- If you need help obtaining the correct ID, Vote Riders offers assistance, including financial and legal assistance if necessary.
- If you use an absentee ballot, be certain that you’ve sealed and signed the envelope in the appropriate location.
- Be sure to visit the appropriate polling site. Find yours here: https://www.vote.org/polling-place-locator/
- If an election judge raises any questions about your eligibility, you may request a provisional ballot – but these ballots have been historically under-counted and should be treated as a last resort.
- If you have a felony conviction, you are still eligible to vote in most states. Visit this site for more information: https://campaignlegal.org/restoreyourvote
In 2020, thousands of Americans reported instances of voter intimidation. If you witness or experience voter intimidation, or if anyone attempts to prevent you from voting for any reason, call the election rights hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE.

How To Help Others Vote
There are many ways to help protect our democracy and promote voter turnout. Here are a few basics:
Encourage friends and family to register and vote.
You have the right to assist a friend or family member who has difficulty communicating in English.
In many states, you can help deliver your family members’ sealed absentee ballots to a drop box or election office to keep them safe and encourage them to vote. Learn the requirements for your state here: https://www.ncsl.org/research/elect…-an-absentee-ballot-other-than-the-voter.aspx
Sign up to serve as a poll worker. Elections offices across the country are reporting record turnover for poll workers, due in part to threats and intimidation from conspiracy theorists. Poll workers are critical to our ability to conduct free and fair elections. If departing workers are not replaced, the resulting delays to vote casting and counting could effectively disfranchise many Americans. You can help fill the void, keep lines reasonable, and ensure that all those eligible to vote will have their ballots counted.
Poll workers are paid, and wages vary by location. Many areas are raising wages to help meet their demand. In New York, poll workers could make up to $2,750 over ten days. In Chicago and Cook County, poll workers will earn $230 on election day, and $150 per day during early voting. In Miami Dade County, poll workers earn up to $269 between election day and training.
Document and report attempted interference or intimidation.

You should have stopped after your first paragraph.
It's like the people who don't prep for hurricanes or take them seriously. If the news says there is going to be a hurricane hitting in 5 days, they don't do anything because when they look outside right now it's a sunny and nice day. It's only when the hurricane hits (punches them in the face) do they realize that something is happening and wish they had prepared a little more.
These are the same type of people who don't vote because there is no immediate gratification afterwards. There is no sandwich waiting for you when you turn in your ballot. You just have to do it and trust that the people and policies you voted for will benefit you.
From my perspective, republican (Trump) ideology is outdated. Their principles and beliefs do not fit where we are now or where we are headed 5, 10, 25 years from now. Republicans have normalized beliefs that would have put you in a mental institution as little as 15 years ago if you said these things out loud.
Democratic ideology (Harris) is better suited for the future. There are a lot of reasons for that which could take hours to explain. But to keep it brief, we need people and policies that look out for the masses and not just the elite. You can only try to improve something so much before you end up ruining it by doing too much. We need to feel safe and secure. We need to trust science and scientists and not superstitions and "holy men" with ill intentions. We need to get away from 2000 year old archaic morals. We need to be progressive for the sake of humanity.
Ooh, really? She's VP righ, NOT President? If she has all this power you say she does, then why didn't Pence do more in his 4 years? It's because she does have that power to exact changes. She is delegated what to do from POTUS. Civics 101.
With the reply you posted, are you one of those who doesn't believe Biden was president for the last 4 years (and the country is being run by someone else)? 🤦🏻♂️
Read my post again. I was referring to your second paragraph. Not your first one.
You said I should have stopped after my 1st paragraph. Which is it? 🤷
I'm done with this. Hate playing games with people who don't even remember what they post prior.
Enjoy your little red hats, and your hatred and division. And your insatiable desire to control women's bodies!
Oh, lastly, hope you didn't buy one of your messiah's Bibles. Turns out they were made in China for $3 and he's selling them for $60! 😱 Wonder if he slaps a tariff on them? 🤔
This has been a long time in the making. We can all take a guess which of the two parties has been primarily appointing judges who are hostile to antitrust
The presidency was controlled by Republicans from 1968-92 with only a four year interregnum. That's 20 years of GOP judges against Carter's four and Carter didn't even get a judge on the Supreme Court
Stephen Breyer is maybe the best judge in American history on antitrust law, who Clinton appointed in his first term. If Clinton had lost that election we would have had a 7-2 GOP supermajority for years and years
Early voting has started in just about every state, do it now and get it over with.
I was in and out in 3 mins. That won't be the case (in certain areas) on election day.
Good on you sir. I'm going to vote for the fascist nazi Kamala Harris too.
Yea they should just stop calling it "early voting". The process is exactly the same whether you do it "early" or on election day. Calling it early voting makes people think they have plenty of time and they can just go on election day which is a terrible idea. Some will show up on 11/5 and find out they have to wait 2 hours and just leave.
I voted Monday. Waited about 40 minutes. Smooth and easy process.
So true, but it's ANYTHING that you own or buy that's made overseas (basically any clothing you have) that will cost more.
The impact doesn't stop at what's brought in for the consumer market; the equipment used to manufacture those US-made widgets has many, many foreign components in it.
Going to resell for $800 with free priority shipping, all good

but seriously, we gotta exercise our hard earned right fam
SN to post ratio ain’t even close.
It's not surprising his supporters haven't either
We live in Texas.
You know she's NOT the President for those 3.5 years right? That would be like saying why didn't Pence do better during his 4 years? 🤦🏻♂️ And you do understand how bills are actually passed? The President doesn't just wave his arms and things are done! Or do you need to take a civics course? Better get I'll give you this. An oldie but a goodie.
And lastly, go ahead and vote for that piece of ****! You're lying to yourself if you believe he will actually help you! I sure hope you don't have any sisters or daughters who WILL lose rights if he gets back in! And same for any of your older relatives on SS & Medicare! Because they will suffer as well. And any relatives or friends who use the ACA for insurance. Because they will be ROYALY ****** if he gets back in because they will repeat it and 10s of millions will be without insurance instantly! Want to talk about a recession? That would definitely do it! But hell, what do I know? 🤷
So please explain to me like I’m a five year old why a Trump presidency would be better for me.
That's right. Putin wants Kamala to win. That way, he'll know exactly our most secret plans:
Then tell your Republicans you plan on voting for to leave women and their bodies the **** alone! It's between them and their doctors. Not some geriatric politicians who can't spell OB-GYN! 🤬
Dudes will trust an 80 year old grifter before a woman. It’s crazy stuff
Misogynist & sexist much? JFC! But I'm not surprised!
Sure have TFG in there, Putin's little orange pet! 🤦🏻♂️ Maybe he'll use condiment bottles to help show who's in charge.
Voting is so much fun for me. Been doing it since forever. It's one of the few voluntary things, like pickup basketball, where there is a range of people coming together and not getting paid, to participate in something with each other.
Also for folks like me, our ancestors fought and marched and died for this right. I'm voting 100%
So Kamala?
The choice is a no brainer. Anyone with a 5th grade education should know who to vote for and it's not for the Trump/Vance/Putin ticket
