Today, New Balance announced its signing of Cooper Flagg, an acclaimed prospect widely expected to top the NBA’s draft board next summer.  He’ll join Kawhi Leonard, Dejounte Murray, Cameron Brink, Jamal Murray, and Zach LaVine as brand ambassadors for New Balance’s resurgent basketball lineup.

Flagg explained his decision in a statement released by the company: “I grew up wearing New Balance, and I appreciate their authentic connection to my community. The focus and growth of the brand in basketball and our shared values and history drew me in. From day one, it was clear that this would be a family-like partnership. I’m so excited to join this family and help them grow the category with young athletes.”

Wasting no time, New Balance released its first of what we expect will be many ads starring Flagg:

Those anticipating a signature shoe will likely need to exercise patience, however, as Flagg will spend the upcoming season playing for Duke University, which is sponsored by Nike.

It's more a Numeric (skateboarding) release than it is a Hoops release. It's makes more sense in that context as part of the three pair pack. And it's Clippers colore apparently

Might just be me but I'm seeing a lot more "Paris Olympics" vibes than clippers from all 3 pairs. Kinda makes sense with skateboarding being in the olympics now too.

Tinfoil hat time is the clippers stuff & kawhi's old love of skateboarding is the Spin job after he pulled out of paris 😆

That is entirely possible as NB as pivoted on stories for releases before. It is a 3 pair pack regardless and I believe the release was delayed a bit so it could have been a skate theme with Paris in mind. The red/white/blue stripe made me think that as first as well.

Yeah, they're checkin' out on his signature line. The 3 was solid. These....eh....

Two WXY 5 I'm not even worried about. They do what they do every season.

Kawhi 4 is a top 5 shoe for me this year. Best in the line.

These are starting off strong…

These are dope. I see the comparisons to the bb v2. The cushion is a little firmer but more stable. The upper needs time to break in a lil. I wish I was 10 years younger to really push these lol.

Okay! I kind of like that, cause it looks like a pest. But he'll need to be more pesty on defense. But I'm not mad at that logo. Kinda different (not saying it's unique, nothing ever is) but also distinctive.

That PE logo has been around for a year I think. Definitely not the first we have seen of it on his shoes, as well as his AAU team using it.

Im getting some weird Zoom Rookie/Garnett Flightposite vibes from these, in a good way!

I love how other brands experiment with their designs, Nike/JB has had an lead in the industry for so long that they have regressed into mediocrity and riding that Kobe meat for so long.

Once again Sneaker News is on top of things! Just missed the Two Wxy lows, the Two Wxy v3, and the FF BB v2. Well done by them.

Interesting to see NB is running with the snowglobe emblem idea Amine brought to them for his 610s.

Went with the V4 for today’s shootaround.. forgot how solid these are on court, lol not the best looking shoe but might be the most underrated of any shoe I own.

Hesi Low this season has seen more playing time than the previous iterations. I gotta know why.

Tried in the TWV5 and they’re good. Not as good as the V4

The Hesi 2 has WAY improved cushion over the 1 and is really close to the Kawhi 4 in that category. Rest of the shoe is really close to the two wxy 3 and we all know how good that shoe was. Think better cushioned two wxy 3.
